Thought it might be an idea to have one place with a searchable subject where all types of EPC and part numbers accesses are grouped.

-EPC access used to available free for those in USA from MBUSA. But now you have to pay :( https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/

-EPC can be accessed by buying a CD or download off eBay - usually titled WIS/ ASRA/EPC or something like that. You get a set of CDROMs or DVDs or, more likely now, a download (that takes quite a while) that you then install on your computer (gives off-line EPC access), Don't worry about it only applying to 1986 and newer cars - epc is good for all MBs. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=mercedes+wis+asra+epc&_sacat=0

-EPC is available from Niemoller https://www.niemoeller.de/en and here https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/

- One I had not checked, but seems good is http://mbepc.net

Please add more links or comment on what does or does not work.

And the only one I have had results searching by part number: http://mbepc.net/

I tried two different EPC CD sets off EBay. I had success loading WIS with one but no EPC from either.

Over the years, I have had two CD sets and currently one downloaded set. Another downloaded set was impossibly complex to install. Installation was never straight forward even although I do have reasonable computer skills. It is still a valid option though.

Right now, my downloaded off-line EPC does work fine, but it is a bit of a rigamarole to get to it (runs under Windows XP Virtual Machine).

The web based accesses like http://mbepc.net/ and https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/ are much quicker and I will probably use those more going forward.

Just been playing with the above two. Not that straight forward, at least for my E320. Gives a number of different engines - Had to use the Datacard function to find which one I have! It said M112.941. But then when I go to engine section it has numbers like M112 E28,32 etc Had to click on those to see which one was a 941!

MB's EPC at least knows from VIN which engine you have :) It of course, also has a learning curve but also has some useful search functions the websites don't have.

Thanks. We now have six web based catalogs plus MB epc from eBay sources or MBUSA Startek for those who want to pay :)

These sites tend to come and go, so if any of the links stop working, please post here.

In Summary:
http://mbepc.net
https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/
https://mercedes.7zap.com/en/eu/fg/car/
http://mb-teilekatalog.info/?lang=E&mode=BM&class=1&markt=AG
http://www.everythingbenz.com/z/epc-mercedes-parts-info-diagrams

plus eBay Search for CDs and downloads:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=mercedes+wis+asra+epc&_sacat=0

and MBUSA: https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/

My Oracle Virtual Box EPC (and WIS I never use) works fine for me, but the EPC license appears to expire in about a year, some time during 2020 I believe. I figure when that happens, I might try to trick the computer into thinking it’s an earlier date.

I have no idea what is going to happen in the next year, or if the whole world will end due to global warming and plastics in the ocean, or a volcano or meteor or whatever. So I’m not worrying about it right now.

I have the 3 DVD version of EPC (and WIS which I never use). It runs under virtual machine but I click it and go get a cup of coffee, by the time I'm back the virtual machine desktop is up and ready to go.

I'm a bit concerned about what Fonzi said about expiration some time in 2020. The application runs under virtual machine where the desktop looks like VISTA or Windows 10. If the system date can be set in the virtual machine desktop before executing the application, then that is a possible solution. I'll try it and let you know.

I don't think that all of the CD/Download versions have an expiry date. I have seen that limitation, but I don't believe the downloaded one I now have or the previous one on CDs had that limitation. I only paid $10 for the download off ebay, so no big deal if it does expire ;). By that time, who knows what/who else might expire

I got my 3 DVD set at least two years ago. Maybe it won't expire, but if it does I'll try the date hack.

Are these CD files something we could/should host ourselves? Seems we've all had to go through the same rigamarole.
It could no doubt be done, at least for the 107s. But if you go to just the 107s on, say, the Niemoller site, you will find first of all a long list of different 107s. Then for each one, a section on some aspect - say Engine. Then for that another series of sub-sections. Quite a lot of stuff to copy and transfer? Maybe easier to copy off CDs? But you are the expert!

I meant host the CD files themselves -- folks can download and install locally. I've not had a look at the files on the CD's themselves to see if they can be exported to PDF, but the other EPC sites seem to have managed it.

I'm not sure how legal that would be.

I also have the four CD set from EBay. Do you mean the WIS runs but the EPC does not? On mine this all runs within one virtual machine (shown here is VMware 15). The EPC starts from the desktop or it can be started from within WIS/ASRA. This program pretty much runs in the background all the time.

Anyone else's EPC license expiring tonight at midnight? I've got a virtual box like the instructions in this post: WIS/EPC

I think I can just set my data back in my VritualBox before starting the EPC and be OK. The error message changed from "expires in 0 days" to expires in 730 or something like that when I set the date back.

Anyone else run into any issues yet?

I don't remember ever receiving the "The StartKey will expire soon." "The StartKey expires in ___ days." message before. I got it today when I opened my VirtualBox VM to check for a part number. I may have gotten lucky opening it today because I don't know if there's an algorithm that ruins the startkey if you try to use it beyond it's date. It seems like maybe I just need to roll back the date on the machine because before, the message displayed "0". Maybe it won't work tomorrow. I will report back I guess.

Mine stopped working a while ago. No messages like that though. Just something about authorization. I used the on-line web site instead.
