i think they will fit without any problems. i'm guessing they are 17x7.5 front, and 17x8.5 rear and et around 35-37. 225/45 front should have plenty of clearance, and when time comes to change the rear tires, i would put 245/45 instead of 245/40.
your front will sit higher than your rear, probably more than with stock wheels. also don't forget to get the wheel screws from the seller (not sure if they are the same as the ones you have now).

Kdude, don't get too excited. First, note that you're really only getting two tires, the ad says the fronts are worn. (And I will have to differ from tirona here because I think he missed the key issue, and that is specific to your car.)

Second, your choices are more limited because of the 4Matic you own, which is the key issue. Staggered fitments -- if not done very, very carefully -- will cause significant problems (and can lead to damage) due to the different rolling circumferences of the differently-sized tires. The ones currently on those wheels are an inch difference in circumference, which I think is enough to trip up the 4Matic.

Note also that the wheels have some blemishes (noted in the ad). I think there must be something about that particular wheel design, because when I was looking I saw lots of sets of those and didn't find a single wheel that didn't have finish problems. I'm not talking about curb rash or rock dings, I mean that the sealer coat was bubbling and flaking off, etc. It's not something you can readily see in a picture (unless it's really bad) but in person it's pretty obvious. You can have them refinished but that is not at all cheap. So just be aware of that when you're looking.

If these wheels are all you want them to be, then the surest fitment bet is to buy four tires the same size (235/45-17) and mount them (you might get away with purchasing two of the 245/40 to put on the front wheels, but there is a chance they may rub and they are slightly under-diameter for the 210 chassis).

Even with all four tires the same size, conventional wisdom says not to do that as you may have unanticipated handling issues in an emergency (same size tires on different width rims). There was a thread on this exact issue not a week ago. Whether you want to assume that potential risk is entirely up to you; personally, I would not. However, even if I were willing to accept that risk I would not run the tires that are presently on those wheels on a 4Matic; the size variance is I believe too great.

So in sum, the wheels themselves will fit, but not with those tires, so you'll need to expend some significant money on four new tires and then the car may do something odd in an emergency. Again, even if you're willing to lay out that cash that's a risk you have to weigh, personally emergencies are something you can't plan for, so I wouldn't go there.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Remember

4matic you want to avoid staggered and keep tire diameter the same,if they need new rubber why not get new wheels the correct offset for abount $125 each from tirerack or discount tire.
Sport Edition ST3 Bright Silver Paint
in 17's or 18's
I fully concur with Greg on this issue.

I have asked similar question in this thread several days ago http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1377924-urgent-can-these-wheels-used-e430-4matic.html
Thanks to everyone who replied.
I bought 4 rims;
Front AMG 7,5" 17 ET37
Rear AMG 8,5" 17 ET30
Tires: 4 ea Pirelli 6 All Season, 235-45-17V rated.
I have been driving since the day I bought them trouble free (no warning lights).
Tire dimensions on both 7,5" and 8,5" rims are exactly same
To my understanding dimension is the only important key point on 4matic system. As long as all four tires are precisely equal in dimension there won't be a problem and no error signal will be sent to the 4matic system.
I found a picture from OEM Mercedes Rim and Tire size list attached below shows (my interpretation) if staggered rims used with 4matic cars the tire size must be the same. This picture is for E211.
The following picture is for W210 and there is no reminder for 4matic since both 7,5” and 8,5” rims have 235/45/17 tires.

Hey, oz. That is pretty much exactly what I said in the post. Note, however, that the highlighted information you posted about the 245/40 refers to the 18" wheel; since he is looking at 17s (like yours) if he decides to go this route he needs to ensure he has all four the same OD. Your post does indicate that if his wheels are the proper offset he should be okay with buying 2 of the 245/40-17 to match the back two he has, although they are undersize as noted and will cause his speedometer to read fast (and rack up more miles than he actually drives). That said, there is still the potential for handling issue since the sidewalls are deflected on the different width rims. I always wonder about that since most of us are lucky enough never to have to test emergency maneuvers (and might not be able to tell if the handling were negatively affected) but as also noted, I tend to be pretty cautious where tires are concerned given their extreme importance to safety.

Those wheels do look good, so take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Gregs210 I wasn't trying to dispute what you have written. My post is similar to yours and wanted to share my experience with kdude87 since I have already done this. I also wanted to post some visual information. In the first picture 18" wheels what I wanted to highlight is that if these wheels to be used on 4matic the tire size must be same even though the rims are staggered.
The second picture for 17" the tire sizes were already same. And the tire size were what was recommended for W210. My wheels as you mentioned would be same as picture 2.
I also agree with you If kdude87 wants to use those rims he needs to use same size tires on all wheels for 4matic.
But, as you said 245/40/17 will spin more than the original 235/45/17 per mile and register more miles on the odometer. He will be reading around 64 MPH even though in reality he is going 60MPH.
Rev Per Mile for 245/40/17 is 843 and 24.7” overall dimension.
Rev Per Mile for 235/45/17 is 817 and 25.4” overall dimension.
Here is a chart I found on Tire Specs for Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R for the tires in question.

Easier

and faster and also figures out change in offsets per width and diameter change
Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing
I still think if those rims are hammered and need new tires he would be better off getting new.

Jimmy I have them on my matic but mine are 16" from a 2003 320. If the tires are 55 on your 17" then you are in for some rubbing on bad roads at speed. On my set I use my 28mm lugs.

yep they look sweet on ur car, i have been hunting these down for a few months now.
found on local craigslist $350 for full set.
tirerack website says 235/47/17 is the correct size,
but TireRacks calculation is on a 17X8 and mine are 17X8.5

on my coupe i have 17X8.5 and had to size down the fronts to 235's from 245's to prevent rubbing w/o rolling the fenders
