Is the hood spring failure a pretty common occurrence in w124? Or just a fluke that the two w124 I've interacted with?

First I have heard of hood spring issues. I've had over 10 w/124's over the years. :nerd

I have always had success with using a deep impact socket on the lug and hitting it as hard as I can with a big hammer. After that the lug comes out as it should.
