Filters - ATF Service - Any Suggestions

I would like to change all my filters in my 98 - 163K on the dash. I figured buying from MB dealer would be a little costly, so is there another place I could purchase all the filters for less of a cost. I was considering purchasing 8 qrts of Mobile 1, than having the oil changed than doing the filters my self, also what is the general cost for a ATF, I think I need it:D thank you

If you change your ATF you should definitely change the drain pan gasket and the filter. I think those filters are only about $15 from the dealers, and the gasket $2-$3. With that job your highest cost, no matter where you buy it, will be the MB-spec ATF - expect to see that in the $15/qt range, and I think your car will need 8.5 quarts.

My dealer charged me about $200 for a "transmission service" which was a partial drain/refill @ 4 qts, filter, pan gasket, lock pin, and 1.5 hr labor.

$200 is a great price for the to do transmission service, that I cant do my self, I would only do the reg filter, and pre-purchase the oil than get the oil changed some where else. Thank you for the input once I get the extra cash I will do the oil change first than the ATF, but does all dealers charge $200 for the tranny service?

air filters, fuel filters, cabin filters, at filters, oil filters for a 98 e320 you can buy either autohausaz.com , mercedesshop.com , or any other site that sells mercedes parts. don';t forget to get the fleece one. oil can be purchased at any autostore in town. atf can be bought at the dealer, along with the at filter kit. all together is a little over / around $100. or you can buy it from the websites, as long as is the mb fluid for 722.6. with your mileage, your car probably needs it.

Im still learning what do you mean by this? thank you in advance for repling
Wow super great information. Me and my friend yesterday was talking about how we wish there was a place we could pay say $10 an hour to work on our own cars. Seeing as we live in an apartment complex its illegal for us to do oil changes our selves. I feel like I could learn and do anything I set my heart and mind too and would be super eager to take a crack at it. For now I hate having to pay some one 75 to 150 an hour for just laybor. I am stuck cuz I will have to take her in shortly for the work and just watch my money float away...its ok I just have to find a place I could trust but now something else came up while I was driving last night that suprised me. But I truely thank everybody for thier response.
