Hello everyone

I've got my a170 yesterday. Its a 2000 with 174000 km on it.
Problem 1 : I have noticed oil in the parkway, and when I opened the bonnet I saw oil leaking out of This pipe (In the picture) and it's quite a big leak. What is that pipe? what do I do ?
Problem 2: There is a huge power loss, like there is no turbo at all ? any suggestion ?
Problem 3: There is blow-by when I open the oil cap ? what should I do.. Is it big problem ?

Any comment would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Well since no one took the time to try and give any ideas, I will post a follow up on how things are going on solving these issues so that anyone " in my shoes" will have an idea on what to do.

1. About the power loss: The pipe that goes from the engine cover to a sensor or whatever it is, attached behind the engine was loose, I reconnected it and WHOO!!! turbo is kicking in :)

2. About that pipe in the picture, I have figured it out that it is an Overflow pipe for the engine oil. Why is it leaking oil from the there ( when there's only half of the amount in the engine) I don't know, maybe because I was pushing the car too hard and since that vacuum pipe that was loose, was not allowing the turbo to operate, the oil was exiting through that overflow valve...or something like that ...Maybe someone could share some light in to this problem.

3. The blow-by has nearly vanished since I have fixed that loose pipe.

Any comment would help. thanks

The part that you call the engine cover is the inlet manifold, unless I'm mis-understanding you. Without that connected the engine won't be sucking in the oil vapour and burning it therefor it will possibly be showing more blowby.

had the same problem after the idiot gearbox repairer had his hands in, the small pipe from the top of the turbo was loose, pushed on and powewr again.
