if i take these ugly grey flares off, will the stock black ones be underneath it? I made a mistake putting these on especially since i have black rims for the ml now, so what can i do to bring back the stock look with black flares.

well of course there are fenders underneath the flare, however they do not protrude as much. they have less of a curvature and your wheel well may appear to have a larger gap (but it really wont)
I personally like the flares (although like you not the gray) you should have them painted along with the bumpers. It would look mean having a blacked out ML with matching rims.

i can paint these flares?! i didn't know that kind of material could get painted black like the rest of my car...how much would that run me?

I was quoted 750 (canadian) for all gray on the car, that was discounted because I know the guy however.
and when i get them painted, these grey bumpers will look like my regular paint? glossy and everything?
as far as I know. They should look nice and glossy like the rest of the vehicle.
