Yesterday I saw a picture of a silver '04 SLK with the special silver grille and I have to say that I really like it. Right now I am just "fishing" to see if there is anyone (preferably state-side because of shipping) that would be interested in exchanging my OEM black grille for your OEM silver grille. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

The silver grill comes on the SLK Special Edition. You can take yours off and paint it to look like te Special Edition grill. Why would anyone pay for a Special Edition package and them swap grills with you unless they replaced theirs with the CLK / SL look grill?

It was my reasoning that even though someone may have purchased the special edition, they may like the look of the darker grille on their car. Maybe they have a darker color car and would prefer to have a grille with less contrast. I don't think that is too unreasonable.

Like I said in my post, I was just "fishing" anyway.

I've thought about painting, but I am sure that shipping charges will be cheaper than getting it painted not to mention that I don't have to worry about picking the right color.

It wouldn't be hard to pick up a can of silver or aluminum colored paint. After all, you are not trying to match it to anything.

You could be different and paint it the same as the body color of your car unless that is silver. Then you might have to try to match it.

I agree. Unfortunately though, my car is silver so matching could be tricky. I could always get the paint code for the brilliant silver and paint it that color (although I don't think that is the color used on the anniversary grille).

I bomb-canned our grille with silver + clear from the auto parts store. Looks great, cost $7.

• Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean part.
