Just recently bought a C240 wagon and have had my first problem. The outside temp gauge seems innacurrate as reads during the daytime a measurement of 50 degrees celcius. During the night it never gets below 40 degrees celcius. I am aware tha the temp probe is below the front bumper but it is faulty and needs replacing ?

I was having the same problem in my C230. Had it fixed this past week, only took about 1 hour including a wash/vacuum. I'd get it fixed with winter coming.

Check to make sure the wire to the probe is connected.

It can become disconnected and when it does, the temperature will read very high.
