I have a 92 300e with a 3.0 6 cyl in it. I have searched this topic and found answers I just can't find the hole. Behind the clutch there is 4 10mm bolts. Where is the whole suppose to be. It looks like the 4 bolts are holding on some type of plate. Could the locking hole be behind there. Everybody is saying that this is attached to the water pump but not in mine. Looking at it from the front my water pump sits to the right side of the motor. Please help I have fan blades off but I can't stop the darn thing form spinnig.

Thanks for the info guys. I've already read that thread though. I was kind of hopping that somebdy had a picture of the exact location from the back of the pulley. Thanks a million anyway guys. I guess I'll have to find an old screw driver and get to bending.

It's on the back

Glad to hear that the original query was solved but I noticed no one revealed the location of the hole. So, for future readers, here goes: It is on the back! I found it by looking over the pulley on the drivers side of the pump while turning the pulley. It is very close to the pump body. I realized that the "tool" required acts as a stop as, once inserted, it wedges against the pump and stops the pulley. I used some heavy gauge steel rod (a couple mm thick) that I had laying around from a project. I got the rod for a few bucks at Home Depot. It bends quite easily and can be hammered smaller if it doesn't fit
