The fan clutch is crappy and fragile by design, I doubt a fluid change will make it any better... worth a try though...

I have my doubt too. I just want to experiment and find out first hand if the fix works. I have 2 defective clutch that I replaced from a 94E320 (Behr) and from a 93 500E (Sach ,sp.)

As far as this example states, it's not a fluid replacement but a fluid supplement ... adding 18ml to give the clutch more grabbing power

update: no drilling required

I haven't done the mod because my temps are cool now however I have found that no hole needs to be drilled for our model fan clutch .... just removing the press-fit pin and filling there .....

Another r129 owner posted good results with this in another forum (although I would only put in 10-18c for a rejuvenation)
