Gents ..

Here's the story: a C200 Kompressor, 2004 came my way with the following problem: battery flat, key was not being sucked. Merc deler replaced EIS and programmed a new key.

State now: key being sucked, and you can turn it. What you get on the dash is a "communicating" message, then an "error message". No crank.

Any ideas ?

Thanks loads ..

The dealer needs to PROGRAM the EIS ..then it will talk to the ME control unit
Hi Mark,

Thanks for this.

Well, this is where the dealer has f***ed up it seems. What he did is program the key/EIS combination with a green key, but not ID'd the new EIS to the immo and ECU.

Question remains whther I will be able to match the three units by reflashing the EEPROMS on the EIS/immo/ECU.

Have you had a case like this ?

Thanks again ..
