That is the B2 thrust pin or reaction pin. Your b2 band is out of spec or your piston plastic girdle is broken. I have performed this fix in a 722.xxx transmission on my old w202.

I can send you manuals and walk you through how to fix it. pm me your email. You will prbably need a new b2 piston, a plastic girdle, and longer thrust pin and lots of atf. A good inch pound torque wrench will also stand you in good stead.

This can be done with the transmission in the car. Michael
