I just got an old 190E to use for parts when i took out the Transmission oil pan i found this.. see picture... Does anyone has any ideas of what it is.
The car only goes in reverse.

That is the B2 thrust pin or reaction pin. Your b2 band is out of spec or your piston plastic girdle is broken. I have performed this fix in a 722.xxx transmission on my old w202.

I can send you manuals and walk you through how to fix it. pm me your email. You will prbably need a new b2 piston, a plastic girdle, and longer thrust pin and lots of atf. A good inch pound torque wrench will also stand you in good stead.

This can be done with the transmission in the car. Michael
