Hi All,

just wanted an opinion as to if its worth purchasing the extended warranty for a 2001 S430. I have until June of this year to decide. Its going to cost me $5000 CDN dollars.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

My '01 S430 had few problems (i.e., instrument cluster, mass airflow sensor, and seat sensor)however, they were expensive repairs and most of them occurred after the manufacturer's warranty had expired. Fortunately, I had the Starmark warranty and therefore didn't have out-of-pocket expense. I have no doubt that an extended warranty is well worth the cost and have purchased one for my current car.

I just bought extended warranty for my S500. As long as the MB dealership accepts it, it doesn't need to be the starmark warranty.

I shopped around and bought the warranty called Universal Warranty ( owned by GM), at what they call the Pinnacle Level, which covers pretty much everything on the car. It costs US$2835 for 48Kmi/4 yrs.
