2001 e320 4 matic. Trying to remove the 4 bolts holding the back end of the exhaust to the pipes exiting the cats. One came off (!), one nut is slipping in the socket, one sheared off, one more upper to go. The bolts aren't spinning. Are they threaded in?

I don't understand your question! You got one off and you sheared one off. Didn't you notice they're just bolts with a copper nut?

You need to replace them anyway. So ...........just cut them off.

Yes, but: The two bolts that the nuts came off of appear to also be seized. My question is are they threaded in or pass through? Can I liquid wrench and pound them out?

update: 3 of the 4 nuts twisted off, and the two lower bolt heads. Joy. I'm gonna have to drill them out aren't I? Chunks of the clamp (left side in the picture) are falling off as well. Feh.
