I traded e-mails with Simon at Evosport yesterday. He told me that Evosport is finishing up the prototype for the W208 header, but pricing has not yet been determined. Stay tuned ....

Kleemann Headers

the email I got from Kleemann said $1500 + $600 to install and that includes adjusting files in ECU so as not to throw CEL codes. The primary cats are eliminated but the O2sensors stay in line. this may throw a wrench in the works for CA cars. Bradon Grantham from Kleemann in Colorado Spgs, CO said "Gains from headers systems with files are typically 9 to 15% of the engines output in both HP and TQ. Your car is supposed to make approx
> 217HP(V6) on the day it rolled of the assembly line= somewhere between 20 and 30."

I have a series of emails from Brandon Grantham if anyone has an interest. DB

Performance Header Specifics

What improvements do your Performance Headers make?

Obviously the make answer is power. They are designed to help the
M112/M113 engines breathe better. Our headers are made from T304
stainless steel and they are TIG welded for maximum strength. We also
has incorporated thicker gauge tubing as well as thicker one piece flanges
which are superior to the competition's headers because they prevent
warpage of the header and the header flange. All our headers come
with a limited lifetime warranty. Typical gains are roughly 10-15HP.

Do I have to modify my stock exhaust to use your headers?

No, AMS chose to make a performance headers that utilized the
stock mounting locations in order to ease installation as well as to allow
our customers the choice to remove the modification in the future. Once
you install long tube headers on your vehicle you are stuck with them and
cannot remove them due to having modified the stock exhaust downpipes.
With our headers you do not have to worry about this, It is truly a headache
free bolt on modification with no major modification required to your exhaust
system.

crank pulley

with all due respect to all parties concerned, the crank pulley issue has been debated ad naseum. I'm no engineer but I would have to say that the argument against the purported gains from the crank pulley on a street car were substantially backed by what appeared to be some solid science. the argument from the manufacturer was equally as adamant but not backed up with any real science other than a graph. there's a thread out there somewhere that goes on for quite awhile with no real agreement on whether the crank pulley was worth the $ or not. anybody/owner out there have one with a before and after dyno to support it? noboby stepped up last time.
