MB did not go beyond the EVO II on the W201 chassis, likely because they changed models to the "C" class. Good luck finding an EVO II in the US since they weren't imported as far as I know. There do appear to be on sale in Europe from time to time and if you had enough money, you could have it shipped since I think it's old enough now that it wouldn't have to be "federalized".

Exactly right. Evo II was not imported here. However, it is almost impossible to make it truly street legal. Your total cost would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 30,000$ to have a real Evo II in the US and even then it would only be under the show import rules, which means you can only drive it up to 2,500 miles a year for the reason that it can only be a show car. The Evo III and II kits are both fiberglass. The Evo III kit is more extreme, is a little lower in the front, and could be a little fatter. Erebuni makes the Evo II kit. Both would make for a unique vehicle and would require work to fit.

I'm lead to believe there are two here in Vancouver BC (and we pretty much go by the same emissions and other ridiculous rules as the US). I don't know how they're getting by the emissions regulations, but somehow someone has brought them over and has managed to register them.

There is one documented Evo I in Canada for sure, so there must be an Evo II. It's possible to bring them into the US, but it is a little easier to bring in rare cars to Canada. I envy that Evo II owner.
