Hi everyone,
I have a plan on changing my front strip (where the side markers are) into the european ones (eliminate the side markers). I concern about one thing. If i change the strip, where will my bulb that was originally for the side markers go ? Is there any socket or something to hold it ?
Thanks

You actually twist it off when you remove the side markers. You will need to tuck them in somewhere behind (not a big deal) or else the bulb-out warning will be displayed in the car. Where are you planning on getting the European impact strips by the way?
evosport.com

evosport.com. They offer it for $150/pr including paint. Do you know any place offering lower price ?
Thanks

does anybody know where I can get the European Strip with PARKTRONICS for the REAR bumper? (C class W203)
Thanks!

hi everyone, do I hear parktronic ???

Can you install parktronic in your car ?
I mean complete set (front and rear) system, including the LED display on the dash and the roof and also the switch in the dashboard.

Maybe you can get the rear strip on the mercedes benz dealer in either germany or australia.

If we can not install the real parktronic system in our car, the "look" on the impact strip is cool enough.[:D]

Thanks
I can get any European part as well...

No biggy, and it should be less expensive to ship since I'm in Canada [:)]

As for the bumper strip, I actually have one for my C320, however I haven't installed it yet. Are you planning on retrofitting the Parktronic system?
It would be extremely expensive...

To retrofit the MB system. Possible, but expensive.

You should be aware that the circles in the bumpers are actually the sensors. The impact strip does not include them and you'll end up with 4 holes in your impact strip, LOL.
Let me check and get back to you on that...

Installing Parktronic as an aftermarket accessory is both messy and costly. It's easy on the outside, but the displays are integrated in the dash and in the rear ceiling, and you can't just tag them on.

You'd be better off with an aftermarket accessory that comes with an "add-on" display.

B-t-w it's quite funny to read that so many of you want European trimmings on your cars. On German boards you find lots of guys looking for American trimmings to set their cars apart from what everybody else has.

Maybe I'll open an exchange one of these days.

About parktronic:
My dealer here says that they can not install the parktronic since it is a complicated system. I do not believe them since BMW has a stand alone option for parkstonic for them who wants to install it later. I think they just lazy to do it or do not have any ability. Now the question is : is it really hard to do it ?
Thanks

Yes, it's true. BMW's system doesn't have the visual readouts. All it has is an audio cue. I am installing the Bosch equivalent system though (MB's system is made by Bosch), but that system is only available in Germany, not in N.America. I had to have a friend bring it back for me when he was over there. Nonetheless, I am trying to source it here for those interested [:)]. Stay tuned!!

Hi Drew,

Do you know how much it cost for the euro strip? (REAR Bumper) and do you know where I can get it? (just the strip without the Parktronic sets) Thanks!

Hi Drew,

...it will have four holes in it, as that's where the Parktronic sensors reside. I actually have one sitting in my garage right now, for my C320, but I haven't installed the system just yet. I paid around US$255 for the strip, if I recall correctly, and it comes pre-painted. This part is not available in North America, of course, since our C-classes here are not available with Parktronic.
do you want to sell it?

Hi Drew,

What color is your C320? mine is Brilliant silver, do you want to sell the rear strip? [:D] or can you get it for me? I can't find it here in the US.. Please Help! [:I]

I can certainly order one for you, from Germany. I'm rechecking the price right now for you. Please note that the rubstrip does not come with the sensors of course, so it's just a pre-painted (large!) replacement rubstrip with the pre-drilled Parktronic holes in them. I'm working on getting the Parkpilot system for N.America (it's only available in Germany right now), so you can retrofit it as I plan to.
Pricing...

Okay I'll wait.. [:)]
OK I have the price for you. The Parktronic rear bumper middle rubstrip with the holes pre-cut out for the sensors, will be US$210. That's quite inexpensive considering that it is specially imported from Germany, the size of the rubstrip, and that it is pre-painted to match your factory paint. I'm not sure how much shipping will cost though, as it is quite large. If you're still interested at that price, let me know and I can check the shipping as well. [:)]

I'm still waiting to hear back regarding the pricing of the Euro front rubstrips.
Pricing question

Drew, how much is a complete set of parktronic system (I need to know how much money do I need to save) including F&R sensors, interior displays, and cables?
Thanks
