Always fascinated with non-US standard parts on our cars, I set to do this mod more than 6 months ago. So after having sourced all the parts more than 4months ago, finally decided to install the trunk triangle in my W140. Job took an hour to do. Here are a few pics

Many thanks to starscream & Rik Johnson

hahaha, I didnt think anyone would look thru the cabin. Its a Garmin Nuvi 350. I just peeled and stuck it to the underside of the gauge cluster cover. I will take a pic later

Triangle and holder are available thru the stealership.

Triangle Hook Part#140-890-0014 - $4.50
Triangle Part#140-590-0212 - $50~$65

I tried my best not to show the bare metal part of the trunk. These are pics from a european W140

Z168,

Quick question; before I start ripping into the lid carpet, how is it held in there? I see two push clips on the outside of each hinge and the latch cover comes off, but are there othere fasteners or is it glued in there?

And NewYorkS600...read the post...those are pics of a euro car, taken for reference for the triangle install, not Z168's car.

push clips all around the perimeter of the trim. 4 or so push clips perpendicular to the top of the trunk. It is a big help to have plastics trim pullers

The first set of pics are from my 300 and 600. The 2nd set was from Starscream's 500

Ok...those I have. I didn't want to be yanking on the carpet and rip out the fasteners, thinking I was only pulling glue loose.

Just lift the edges and work around the perimeter with the plastic trim pullers, eh?
