I have a set of euro tri-Y headers froma euro 500SL. I am thinking of installing them on my 560SL with new downpipes. any advice om this project? Is ceramic coating needed? What advantages of this coating are to be gained? How much HP gain do you think will be realized? Any cams that could be installed at the same time to up the HP a bit? If I run a little short of money for other things the headers may be ebay'd. They are MB OM parts.
Thanks
William

The 3-y headers that I've seen are cast and probably don't need a coating, but there would be a big advantage heat-wise to coating them. The ceramic will keep the heat in the pipe and out of the engine compartment. Without it, the 3-y's will probably be hotter than the normal manifolds.
