Hello Everyone,

I have had my 1983 380SL for almost 1 year now and it has fast became my favourite car.

The mystery behind my 380 is that I think it might a Euro-spec or special order car even though it was sold new in Vancouver Canada...here's why:

It is significantly faster than any other 380SL I have tried, others who know these cars also say mine is exceptionally fast for a 380. The North American models are supposed to get 155bhp, Euro cars get about 204bhp I believe

The seats are not leather, they are vinyl, the owners manual says they should be leather. I have yet to see another 380SL with vinyl.

The headlights are the true single lenses not the aftermarket kits that I have seen other do to achieve the euro-look or the common twin sealed beams.

The gages and heating controls are all metric, but that is standard issue for Canadian cars after 1978.

It does however have the larger North American bumpers.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why my car is the way it is, I'm really curious!!!

Thanks
