I think thats pretty pathetic for a 1995 MB to have transmission and speedometer problems at a mere 19k miles. I do know that the V12 engines do require a little more care, but it still dosen't add up. But still maintenance is everything, did you maintain this car as good as possible since you owned it? As for the 1993 S500 coupe w/60k for $18,000, I must admit that is a great price because A: Its not even close to 100k miles yet, B: The coupe is always worth much more than the sedan. I saw a black w140 S500 coupe yesterday in mint condition and absolutely fell in love with it, I know how addicting this car can be! And the former S-Class Coupe body is ten times better than the current S-Class Coupe which almost looks like a Lexus wannabe with the circular lights.
hey guys,
i've been a member on the 126 forum for some time, and i think i'll be upgrading to a 140 coupe soon. i'm 19, and please no flames. i found one in belgum the other day , a silver 1993 s500 coupe and grey interior, the car has about 60k miles and has ALL the records and is extremely clean.
i have had bad experiences with the 140. we have a 1995 S600 coupe that has given us a lot of problems, the transsmission suddenly losing the gear ( like a worn clutch) speedo stops working, and some small other things, but then the dealership accuses us of being responsible for these things, mainly because the car has 19k miles on it since 1995. what do you think? would that be a reason.
and would a 1993 s500 coupe with 60k miles on it be worth 13 grand? of course after adding the 5000 for the legalization, it'll be 18. is that a good price? thanks.
here's my baby for the moment.
