hey guys,
i've been a member on the 126 forum for some time, and i think i'll be upgrading to a 140 coupe soon. i'm 19, and please no flames. i found one in belgum the other day , a silver 1993 s500 coupe and grey interior, the car has about 60k miles and has ALL the records and is extremely clean.

i have had bad experiences with the 140. we have a 1995 S600 coupe that has given us a lot of problems, the transsmission suddenly losing the gear ( like a worn clutch) speedo stops working, and some small other things, but then the dealership accuses us of being responsible for these things, mainly because the car has 19k miles on it since 1995. what do you think? would that be a reason.

and would a 1993 s500 coupe with 60k miles on it be worth 13 grand? of course after adding the 5000 for the legalization, it'll be 18. is that a good price? thanks.

well, the car has had the warranty till january of this year. and whats funny about it is that we didn't have any problems after the warranty ended. and it has been serviced regularly. if it doesn't go the milage, we take it in every 1.5 to 2 years for the works. engine oil changed regularly, driven at least one a week. it's pretty funny how people log on 90k plus miles on them and still have money left.

i just discovered that the drivers headrest stopped working and is loose going up and down. plus the rear headrests don't move with the front sitch, but only reacts to the rear individual switches. i'm checking the fuses today and see what's going on.

btw, the car has been driven by my father ONLY since 1996 and i only started driving it two years ago, to charge the bttery and wash it. nothing else. altough we took a 300 mile trip to dallas last month, we do it every once and a while to give it a workout.

we are very knowledgeable in cars and my grandfather has been a mechanic for about 54 years now and he still does it till this day, and he's a mercedes mechanic. so i'd day it's pretty well maintained.

P.S he stills swears by thw w126 model. and that it was the pinnacle of merecedes sedans.
