Look what Santa gave me for Christmas...[:D][:D][:D] With the euro adaptors this was a 15 min. "plug and play" mod. Very easy... Sylvania silverstar amber signal bulb are on the way. ( Thinking about StonGard transparent lens protection) These lights do not need the E-code mod. it is standard. The lighting is a amazing upgrade over my '99 OEM halgons. WOW Protect your retinas, and holdon'...

if you install the new headlights bi xenon from the facelift models on a 98-99 ml there is a fog light in the older headlights
if u use a new headlight from 2002 on ur 98-99 if you press the foglight button nothing will happen where do you install a foglight

the old fog light was connected to the low beam in the old light so when you replace the old to the new bi-x the fog light connector came with the old one. but you still have the fog light harness behind the driver side headlight and still functioning if you want to add a below bumper fog lights and it will still be controlled by the dash switch.

Looking at your beam pattern, I have often wondered what the difference is in beam pattern between the North American DOT bi-xenon and the E-code bi-xenon? I too have E-codes, and the beam pattern looks pretty similar to the DOT pattern posted by JimB in this post:

You can install the grille guard with fog lights. These are Hella FF200s with PIAA Ion Crystal lamps.

hehe, why?

chris K is a long time member of this board until he bought a Z350, he is still posting here once in a while because he still have his ML430, I think he gave it to his mom, and the Europe Bi-X was intalled to his ML430, then probably sold it to AAC[:)][;)]

Looks sharp,.. (even with the pic being a little blured)[:D] Yes, there are some more differences.

1) No amber insert, as you know.

2) E-code is built in, I can turn on BOTH lights (In the same lamp) at the same time - no mod needed.

3) Humm,... there are NO parking lights at all. So it is Xenons ON or OFF, there is no middle setting. ( Ah, you know how some people drive around at dusk with the amber lights on)

4) They have some kind of park light bulb that is used in Europe. (Maybe, someone with more understanding can chime in about this?)

5) .. plus the adaptors are only for Euro Bi-xenons.-- and they cost a arm and a leg as they were purchased alone.

6) With my OEM lights, I could test the turn signals with key turned. The Euro needs the car running, maybe something to do with the adaptors?

7) They shine a little more light to the upper right, so road signs on the right side of the road are really clear. ( NOT sure but maybe the Bi-xenons here do that? anyone?)

i think you can just adjust your right beam pattern a little higher than the left, IMO being level is good enough to see the street sign.[:)]

youre basically paying an extra thousand(bekkers price) for the white reflectors. you can do the e code high beam mod, but the xenon high beam is bright enough anyway. you can also do the parking light delete by pulling out the middle pin or covering one of the light contact with electrical tape. looks very nice tho
