I did a search and it looks like I may have a harness problem or a faulty brake switch. Is either problem something I can do or should I just take it in for a look (30 miles away but still have warranty)?

I recently changed my tires to 18s but the diameters are virtually the same (24.9 vs 25.1 inches according to the manufacturers). Since the brake lights aren't working, I don't think the light has anything to do with the wheels. It comes on from the second the car is started. I've tried turning the steering wheel from left to right w/no change.

thanks.

The wheels are not the problem. It is just a coincidence.

Personally I would not give it a second thought. I would call the dealership and take it in. You have the warranty, make good use of it.

thanks, I just didn't want the service dept throwing the new tires at me as the cause of the problem.

that's good to know.
