Try the whole VIN..................WDBEA30E9MB419067

By the VIN and engine number you need 008 154 48 02

Engine# is 103983-12-234343

why, thank you, Clarkz71

I guess I need a bit of experience with EPC ..

hopefully, not too much ..

anyways, I believe there might be bad solder joints on the diode trio
the intermittent charge light thingy still going on..
found the battery @ 12.4 vdc this morn after lights and heater on the way home last nite
charge light on and off frequently , evidentally the Alt is not keeping up

Sounds more like a voltage regulator issue (which goes inside the alternator and is user replaceable).

The alternators themselves are very durable.

Suggest replacing with a new Bosch regulator.

what brings you to that conclusion ..???

I have been trying to catch the light on for long enuff to get a DC Waveform, (flooby content here )which will tell if a diode pair is " out "

the Regulator only has 34k miles, so it is not like the brushes are worn out
the charging voltage is low, at 13.4 > 13.6 Vdc.. so maybe a drifted Regulator
and
intermittently, the Charge light comes on ....brightly
soooooooooooo...

I'm seeing bad/failing Diode solder connection here ...
in lieu of seeing a charging waveform, I can not troubleshoot further

please share some further thought other than " regulator "

thanks ...:)

You were just missing the 9 in the VIN

You had......WDBEA30EMB419067

Your VIN is WDBEA30E9MB419067

Is your alternator original to the car?

no matter what ya pay, it seems you caint get good Help ...:D

looks lika MB thingy
hard to tell, there's no crud to get disturbed changing out parts
even the rubber boot on the connections is clean 'n shiny

I can't catch the light on for long enough to get a waveform
I did order a rebuilt alt, rather than deal with walking at some point ..;)

Hope you ordered a "rebuilt by Bosch" or MB core exchange alternator.

Otherwise, you'll most likely get the typical box store "clean it, box it, ship it, sell it" alternator.

Your car, your money, your choice.

Chances are that box store alternator was sourced by way of "Made in China".

Seriously doubt it's going to hold up as long as your factory original piece did.

I don't not have any expectations of such ...:D
crap, is crap

looking at a 1986 Tempo as a winter car tomorrow

like all the other " fleet" cars,I have, the w124 might get 3k-4k miles a year
the " junkwagon" Sable that I drive as a sacrificial lamb prolly will not pass inspection in January due to frame rust/perforations

life is rough here in NY
rust never sleeps

I used to have an Olds 88 that I drove when the TE was being a beetch or begging for expensive parts. The cooling off period always seemed to help her temperament immensely. Then the lawn kid that takes care of my neighbor next door, managed to back his ******* truck up to nearly the windshield. And that was that as they say.....crazy car-got 30mpg on the hwy with that V-6 and with the big gas tank, I could go 500 miles between fill-ups.
