Regarding the EPC/WIS CDROM or VM software, is the 380SL and the 560SL in the WIS?
My copy of EPC has both but not in the WIS.

Mine doesn't have anything in the WIS for R107.

So far as I know, WIS only covers model years from about 1986 on. So might cover some 560SLs?

My WIS does not cover any R107 including the 560SL.

Just checked, and mine doesn't either. It does cover some M117 engines, but not the M117.967 (just 961,963,965,968).
I bought my original CDs to help with work on our W210. WIS is very useful, once you find your way around what is a complex application.

Purchased EPC and WIS on Ebay for $2.59 US.
What the heck, cheap enough to satisfy my curiosity :)
Already had a copy but as a Windows XP client.
This one is a Windows 7 client.
Think I'll keep both copies.

Instead of CDROMs, you download the VirtualBox VM Client - approx 60GB.
Nothing in WIS for R107s, but EPC does cover R107s.
Main advantage is its Win7 and updated.

Carl, The version I now have was also a download from UK. Different seller. Cost C$3.35 (~US$2.52). Those UK sellers sure have low prices! I had some sort of problem with installation, but seller gave me a work around. It has worked well since. In my case, the Windows version that runs inside the VM is XP. My windows OS was windows 7Pro 64bit. I upgraded recently to Win 10 and everything still works well. Only problem is that loading of VM and then the XP application takes some time.

The main problem I had was "impatience" :)
After downloading, the procedure was to unzip the downloaded file Mercedes 2018.7z which
creates all the Merceds V11 2018.7z.* files.
Then, where my "impatience" came to play was to next unzip the Merceds V11 2018.7z.001 file.
I didn't give it enough time ... which took about 15-30 minutes on my PC to finish.

True, you do need patience and a good fast internet for the initial download and install. I need more patience when waiting for epc to load!

When you say 'updated'.... Does it run OK without moving the date back? (and if so, do you know when it does expire?)

Steve, my EPC/WIS valid to 12-31-2028.

BTW, the VM come set for a 32-bit Win7.
I went to the settings for the VM and changed it to 64 bit.

Great.... I'll grab a copy of that. Hopefully my car is finished by then!
