I need one of these...A bigger cab would fit me better.

as far as i know, yes the high is 120mm but the extension is only 70 but there may be other versions as well like the TG cab. forgot how much that is extended though

all i could find is this diagram.

Option code F09 - Enlarged cab

Tmax, that 70mm is the recommended distance between your rear box front wall and cab, so you have room to tilt and room for movement

From the data sheet:

Cab
Exterior

• Opt. crewcab for 7 persons • Opt. hydraulic tilt
cab • Opt. heated windscreen • Opt. cab extended
by 120 mm
Opt. cab roof raised by 120 mm • Opt.
round roof hatch • Opt. vertical exhaust pipe

ok i'm wrong. the 70mm in the diagram is indicating the reccomended distance between the cab and what ever is behind it. maybe the pic shown is the same as the TG cab.

Not that it matters, but the TG with the extended cab (most photos don't show that option) looks to be a bit longer than the red one, to my eye. When you consider the stack is covering up 5"-6" or so.

The U5000 "walk around" set you posted earlier appears to have the enlarged cab option as well, and some pictures of the interior, but the back wall is obscured by racks

This one must have all the bells and whistles, 3 sun-visors!!!!

Here's a funny O/T note.
On Saturday a friend and I took the UNIMOG to the annual Off-Road show in Pomona. I went to the back gate at the opening time, just to park in the
seldom-used Public lot. It is shaded and a closer lot than the one everybody uses.
Anyway, as we pulled in, the girl at the gate burst out a laugh and said " WOW, I love it- you're an exhibition vehicle, obviously ! He'll check you in..." Pointing to the next gate. Ok,
So I went with it. At the second gate, the guy says " So you obviously know where you are going, right ?" I said "YEP" and wound up parking in the display area. It's not like I B.S.ed
my way in, the truck did all the talking, and I never dreamed they'd shoo me right through-
I was just looking to pay my money and park....a nice break that just rolled in .
Whenever we came out to dump stuff into the truck, it was surrounded by guys. It was pretty funny. In the midst of zillions of dollars worth of hardware....Million$ and Million$ heck, 4 Trophy Trucks equals million$...
guys were saying that this (my unwashed, un-detailed) Truck was the best thing they had seen all day. Pretty funny.

The photos posted :

And that Black Lincoln Continental was Rockin' - Literally. A nice sound system.

Not the best photos- there were more race trucks than shown...lots of Jeeps. Lots. But some really nice stuff. Hutchinson Wheels didn't make it this year. Too Bad, it is always nice to shoot the breeze with the guy. ROUSH-YATES had a very nice "dirt car"
small block Windsor - 865-880 HP, 8500 RPM redline, all day long. Just looked beautiful.

Seems like the photographer was hooked on some of the junkier bits of hardware and didn't take to the actual race hardware, but at least he posted stuff.

I've got to clean my pig up.

I like the third sunvisor...but still no provision for blocking sun at sides? Show me that option...and how about a no-draft pivot for the forward door glass? They need to get with the later half of the 20th century..let alone the 21st. Pardon my rant...maybe that is an option I have never seen.

You are right. The lowliest Mini Van that costs a fraction of the price of a UNIMOG will have
a superior Interior, including side visors, remote door locks, electric windows, heated seats, back up camera, and so on. Pretty amazing what can be included in a purchase price about 1/4 or 1/5 or 1/6 (or ?) of the price of a UNIMOG.
Or, more correctly, what "can't" be included in the basic UNIMOG purchase price.

Funny, though, I don't want a mini van.

But you are right- they get away with a lot in terms of not really joining the party. Most of
our trucks are decades old, but even the newest ones are pretty basic, and not on a par with the Pick up truck offerings, for example.

You mean like the ones they had on the '50's 401's? ;)

No Trucktor, if you want those bells and whistles one must buy a minivan... and I have resisted also...they are too practical! I'm not complaining.....how can I complain? A workmate just returned with goodies from Gaggenau...beer coasters and some other swag! Laugh, yer right Trev, they already done did no draft windows in the 50's. I love the paint job on that 401/402 whatever she is. One of those smaller machines is on my bucket list along with an 8x8 Tatra.

I love me some wind wings. I can't tell you how much I miss them.

On the square cab trucks, that piece of forward glass is a separate which means with some monkeying around, you could make something that fits in and pivots a sub-pane. Sounds like a challenge.
