I just changed the oil in my 1982 300D Turbo, and ran into a problem. I turned the ignition on ran the car for awhile, and tried to turn the car off, but the engine kept on idling. I opened the hood and hit the fuel cut off and the engine stopped. Every time I drive my car I have to pop the hood and turn the engine off with that switch. Any ideas whats going on here? Hopefully electrical, and not something like damaged pistons.

Sounds to me that you have a vacuum problem. Check the rear side of the fuel injection pump and inspect ALL of the vacuum lines to see if there are any that are disconnected.

You almost certainly need a new shut-off valve. Stop by our Website or give us a call. The part in inexpensive and the job isn't too tough.

Problem solved

I guess this post may come in handy to anybody else who may experence this problem. All I did was check for loose power connections, etc. found a disconnected vaccum line and rehooked it.
