Engine Swap

!!! ok, which is the overall best eninge for my 1992 190e, i have a 2.3l 8v and really really bored w/ it, yea it does the sickest donuts and only spins tires in reverse, what should i swap to get the best performance, i want to start racing people. i was thinking the stock cosworth engine or maybe the 2.0l sportline....even if i can save up to get the amg engine but i dont know about the last one....which one is better the cosworth or the 2.0l sportline???? i want an engine that can put me in the lower 15 seconds on the quater mile...maybe a nice 14 second pass wouldnt be bad, but i doubt that would happen...any suggestions??? i want the most performance for the cheapest prices also where can i find the engine you guys request???....

p.s. i was thinking of having my uncle who happends to be a fabricator/welder....maybe he can set me up w/ a custom set-up for a volvo turbo, seeing the amg one is like 2200(usd) ill just pull the volvo turbo off a junkyard car.... any and all replys would be great

i will catch hell for this

put a 4.3L chevy fuel injected v-6 with a 700 r4 tranny
buy a 2wd s10 or astrovan annd get harness and all
slides right in and has "OVERDRIVE"
mine is a rocket and idles at 75mph
whole swap costs less than $800
or find the 16 valve
i tell ya thatll cost you a little more than $800

hey, i was thinking of acutally doing the same thing but i have no idea where to start. does the 4.3 really just slide right in, i f you have and other info could you please get back to me . thanks.

I'll be putting a 2.3 engine in my 16vlv

if all goes as planned, ill either be downgrading to a 2.0 or a 2.5 from my 2.6

but the thing is that theyll be turboed

Cheap ol engine, cheap ol tranny. Installation can be done by the owner. The shops don't have to do everything. So thats 800 for just the parts. Labor was probably all done by hand. And why are you going to question a 4 year old thread jbmbusa probably wont answer you lol.

wats can do i for like 1500-2000

well. you can get a nice Nissan motor for about 1300-1600 thats putting out an easy 250HP with a turbo as well. comes with all the goodies you need. expect motor mounts. those obviosly have to be custom. and the the other grand you can have someone install it.

can you really install a nissan engine in a mercedes chasis??
i think most of nissans engines are front wheels drive and the mercedes are rear wheel drive

i've seen good sr20 engine swaps on these cars ... also the 1j twin turbo works out real good. engine mounts is all you need.
