Hi,
I'm in the process of swapping an engine from a 1985 300d to a 1983.
So far, on both cars I'm having difficulty separating the drive shaft from the tranny at the flexible rubber disc. The manual says to pry them apart with a screwdriver but I've had no luck with that method. Any suggestions? Will it be easier to pry apart once I've got the engine on the lift and start pulling it out?

second question...
How do I properly line up the drive shaft with the new transmission (once it's in)?
