engine surge, engine dies, power fluctuation

PLEASE HELP> I have a nice vito cd115 on a late 55 plate. Got 6000 on clock but I have a problem??? Going up through the revs in ALL gears she dies @ 2225 rpm, pick up @2500, has a little drop the all hell breaks in and she is off @ 3000 rpm. it is as if you have cut the fuel supply. Complete drop off of power if climbing a moderate hill in 6th anything below 3000 rpm. Gues what, Merc agents say 'the computer says NO' Although they agree that i am right with the fault, as the computer says otherwise they cannot help. GREAT.
