guys i have a problem!

when putting the gear into reverse (manual gbox) i heard a clicking sound coming from under the dash and the car stops! i looked into it and i found that a relay is clicking.. i removed the relay and i sprayed WD40 onto it and it still does the same thing... when the reverse switch is ON the relay starts clicking and the engine stops. i also notcied that when i stop the engine this relay clicks once after about 5-8 seconds. is this something to do with the fuel cutoff?

however now i removed this relay the car still starts, runs and stops ok, and the reverse lights work fine... what should i do? [:(]

Dont know in your case. I would spray the relay down with some electronic parts cleaner rather than WD-40, that almost gets a crappy relay going again. Not sure if WD does it any good.
