Hey Jonathon. I found a good mercedes mechanic and
my car is in his shop. The heads are off and I
need 4 exhaust valves (no piston damage). I"ll also
need complete head gasket sets with new guides(16)
seals etc.valve cover gaskets. also everything to
do complete timing chain replacement,chain,sprockets,
guide rails,tensioner and gaskets.
you can email me at [email protected] and give
me an idea of cost. Thanks,Chuck.

Hi All,
I am also one of those BAD-LUCK guys. I bought a 1986 420SEL 2 weeks ago, with 68682 miles and in excellent condition. I got CROWN-EURO mercedes agency to do 54 point inspection on last Friday. Everything was reported perfect. And on Saturday evening getting out of a parking lot the car stopped.

Now left valve cover had a crack. I wish I had enought knowledge of timing chain issues!!
Now I have the same situation as 'justice4'. 4 driver side valves are lightly bent. So need to replace those + chain, rails etc.
I have come across a certified local tech.; but would still like to get a second opinion of list of parts that must be replaced + best recommendation of replacement/repair, since both engine heads will be opened. Please help. email: [email protected]

Thanks in advance.
