15 months ago I replaced the engine mounts, transmission mount. a passenger side transaxle and oil pan because the originals??? 222K miles had failed and the transaxle had eaten the oil pan so that I was loosing oil like a stuck pig. The mounts were Rein Automotive which is a German OEM manufacturer. The same thing has now occurred. Shop wants $1,400.

I have to replace the A/C compressor, but have new tires and everything else works great. I can do the work myself again, but is it time to cut bait? What can I expect in return for this?

Buy original MB mounts & DIY it. The 3 mounts will cost you about $150-00 if not less. Get a friend to help you. Don't try doing it alone.

Agreed. I will do it again with the correct parts. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problems. My bad.
Thanks Art

Parts.com, and MBoemparts.com each at less then $35 each. Are these acceptable?
MBoemparts.com is a Mercedes dealership in Naperville Il. The other place I deal with is oediscountparts.com they are a dealer in NC. I've spent thousands between them and never received a non genuine part in a MB box or bag.

WE47B1ME,
Thanks, found it already. The prices you are quoting are for the brackets though. The mounts are like $40 each.
Are you saying that you feel its the brackets that have failed?

I digress. The cost of motor mounts has gone significantly down in the past year since I did them last -- that's crazy if those are the actual M113 engine mounts for $40 and not the Febi-Billsteins

Replaced motor mounts with OEM Mercedes mounts. New oil pan and transaxle. Now just less then 30 days later and it is happening AGAIN. Transaxle is starting to eat oil pan and there is a grinding noise while driving. Got under car to see if it was a transaxle seal leak. Nope, the transaxle is all scraped up and the boot is getting eaten by the oil pan again. What the hell is going on here? HELP !!!

Right now it is sitting in the drive. I am considering looking into what damage has been done to both the transaxle and the oil pan. The parts are less than $150 on e-bay. I would then grind down the cooling fans off the oil pan and reinstall an axle if necessary. I have not spoken to Mercedes directly about this to see what their opinion might be, but everyone including myself cannot fathom what might have happened to this rig.

I need left and right engine mounts for a 2012 Mercedes ML250 Vin: WDC1660042A082835. In Australia I've been quoted $740 for one mount. Where can I buy the mounts at a reasonable price.
