OK this ones got me stumped, its supposedly out of a 1973 merc 1419 truck, the guy only wants $500 for it and apparently ran, truck had been rolled and only had 150k kms on it, I have googled like crazy but cant find it, its not a om355 as it has a 2 peice rocker cover, its not an om352, its got a seperate intake but its not an om366, if its out of a 1419 that means its a 190hp motor, wonder if it would fit in my mog?

Looks kind of interesting. Let us know how you get on and whether you have actually purchased it.

So does anybody know if this om360 would bolt into the 406 mog? It appears to be the smaller version of the 366, more to the point is there any benefits? Other than being 190hp or so I am led to believe.

A polite search of the internet shows a lot of bus applications for that engine, O302 would be a good choice for a donor.

Thanks acad, Ive spent hours searching but finding limited info, I cant even find actual specs on the motor other than the truck model number indicates hp output, its a 1419 so 14t truck with a 190hp motor, seems high seeing its not turboed,
Cheers Russ...

I'm not sure the thing will fit-
It is classified in the GROSS 6 zylinder motor class,
While the OM 352/366 are classified in the KLEIN class.

For example , an OM 366 has a bore/stroke of 97.5 / 133, for a displacement of 5955 cm3 ,

And the OM 360 shows a bore/ stroke of 115/140, with a displacement of 8721 cm3

So, I'm thinking that must be a bigger block by a good bit. I don't see over-boring the
" Klein " block to take pistons that large, but I have been wrong before.
It would make for some pretty thin cylinder walls. Translucent maybe.

That might explain the relatively high HP numbers without a turbo.

Here is a tip that has worked for me : instead of " googling " the OM 360, or any German thing,
First go to Google.de, and use the German version - it will almost always produce better results.
Don't worry about it all being in German, there are ways to deal with that....

thanks guys, i knew you would come up with the goods, I tended to steer away from the german sites but yes I will use translate,
its only 10mm bigger bore but it must be a different casting, it looks so much like a 0m352, hey for $500 it might be good to play with
