I was doing some anti-rust work on the car for the last few weeks.

Now water is getting inside under the hood on both sides.
(likely enough to cause electrical problems if its a storm while on the road).
90% of the water gets in front of the fuse-box area.

Usually I had the hood in the vertical position like in the photo & perhaps lost some insulation rubbers?

e.g: on the right side there is a black rubber mounting extending from in front of the water washer reservoir to behind the coolant reservoir.

but there are no such rubber mountings anywhere on the left side near the fuse box or in front.

Anyone have the part numbers for those insulating waterproof rubbers so I can find out whats missing?

Yes, you are missing that rubber strip on the driver side fender. Sorry, I don't have a part number for it. But, I think that it is not the cause of water getting into the fuse area behind the engine firewall.

Water getting there is most likely coming from a missing windshield drain shield or trim.

Try pouring some water on your driver side windshield while lifting the wiper blade. See if any water is dripping around the fuse box area. Water should runoff on top of the rubber strip along the bottom of the windshield and to the plastic drain channel and out the outer fender drain hole. That rubber strip at the bottom of the windshield should be flushed with the glass and not have any gaps. The strip actually has a rubber flap underneath that attaches to a channel at the bottom of the windshield. If your windshield has been replaced, they sometimes forget to install that channel.

In any case, some water is expected to get into the fuse box area where the hood hinges are. They'll drain out at the bottom. There are no rubber weather strips on the inner fender edges behind the firewall on both sides.

Here are some pics.

As LCG mentioned, the driver side seal is 44cm in length.

There's no seal behind the firewall as it would obstruct the hinge and the open hood detector for the alarm.

This is the windshield seal with the plastic gutter. Notice mine is taped up as the seal is not mounted properly to the bottom of the windshield. I plan to seal this with silicone later on. Water would runoff below the seal, bypass the gutter, and get the top of the relay box wet. That's why the cover is brownish as seen on the lower right.

Above is another view of the driver side seal. It is a one piece rubber seal covering the wiper mechanism and cabin filters.

I don't have those seals down the side either, though I have something that looks like one of those that is attached to my fan shroud. I wonder if it is in the wrong place? LOL! I wonder what the real purpose is for it...there is no reason to protect that particular area from whatever very small amount of water might get in through there that I can think of and it's not protecting anything that you would be worried about having water get to. Still, if they are supposed to be there, I suppose I will order them just because...

get rid of that tape, lift the big rubber seal that goes across the windshield, and clean out the channel it fits into with a toothbrush and whatever, clean the glass under where the seal goes, then reinstall it dry, it should seal fine. just make sure the 'tongue' on the bottom of the rubber seal goes into the groove

as someone else said, make sure the plastic drain trough properly drains into the pipes on each side, and that those pipes are clear. I clean them out with a bicycle brake cable, or a guitar string, something with a bead on the end, and running water.

Unfortunately, the windshield doesn't have that channel anymore on mine. My windshield was either a replacement and they forgot to install the plastic channel, or it already broke off. I don't think there's a replacement part for it.

I'll have to glue the rubber seal on the windshield with silicone sealant to make it water right.
