have any of you ever flushed your engine yourselves? I'm kind of sick of all the black oil aka dirt in the oil I guess. Is it highly beneficial to have those deposits removed etc? Is it a difficult/expensive process.... cheers!

Not too familiar with that phrase yet if your speeking of cleaning the oil up heres what I'd do. I've done this once in my 190 D. 1/2 a bottle of tranny fluid* + your current oil, run it for 5-10 minutes. Then drain the oil and use Amz-oil()i think thats how you spell it Remember its a Desiel it'll always get black.
Why tranny fluid? it is a very poewerfuldetergent, I would suggest you make sure you dont touch any painted surface after handling it...dont ask. [}:)]

I've had good luck using Risolene on dirty motors.. About 100-200 miles prior to an oil change I'll dump a quart in.. Oil that comes out is Black as night.. Let it drain over night.

ATF also works well as noted above.
