IDK also last thing I looked a bit for how to fix the bas light and read something about the Brake sensor and resetting it? How is this done ive had the car for awhile now and its gone off twice but comes on within a hour of driving.
any help would be great.

Hi, Jon.

Probably the most common MB issue.

Head for autohausaz.com and order a new Bosch Mass Airflow Sensor, about $175 with free shipping, best price there is for the genuine article. Don't buy the ones from ebay, they're cheap chinese replicas that will be worse than yours.

In the future if you search for codes they usually come up.

Some may suggest you try cleaning it, I've yet to hear of anyone getting the MAF codes and having cleaning do anything other than clear the codes for a short period of time, if at all. Codes mean it is failing internally, not dirty.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Oh, I just re-read your post, looks like you have another issue? BAS light can be triggered by a bad brake light switch. Get it at the dealer, I've heard the aftermarket ones can be problematic and it's only about $25 and pretty easy to change.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

Try cleaning first, it might save you lots of money.
I agree that ~50% of the time, cleaning won't help.

BUT, CRC MAF cleaner costs ~$8.
It did NOT help our ML320, the $175 new MAF(Bosch OEM) from Autohaushas has worked fine for 6 months, still working.

2 years ago I CRC cleaned the MAF on my 2000 SLK 230. Still working after 25,000 miles. I saved $167.

If you do need a new one, Autohaus is a bargin, dealer price is ~$400.
It only takes 5 minutes to install.

Mark

NOTE: USE UP AT LEAST 1/2 CAN OF CRC, IT'S OVERKILL, BUT IT'S ONLY $4.00 WORTH

Get the codes read at an Indy, MB dealer or with Carsoft 7.4. Normal OBD scanner will NOT read the BAS/ESP codes. BAS/ESP logs precise error codes. Could be a lateral acceleration sensor. Costs about $120 and an easy job to replace it yourself.
