I want to remove my Mercedes emblem in the front and put a plug in, I've searched this forum and saw that www.precisionauto.com carries them, but when I entered the part number it doesnt find it.

I also want to remove the 300E trunk badge, do I just need dental floss and 3M adhesvie remover? What are the steps in this process? Any help? Oh, wheres a good place to buy 3M adhesive remover, Fred Meyer or like Shucks?

Do you mean the hood ornament? Or the Benz badge on the radiator "grille?"

http://www.performanceproducts4benz.com/productpage.aspx?pid=103335&name=Hood+Star

The above is the link for the hood star. Removable and standard.

IN their same catalog, the part number for a "hood badge" with the Benz laurel wreath symbol is part #88-624. Price: $32.95. It fits al models from 1994 on.

A simple chrome plug,no emblem, to fit on the "raditor chrome grille" is also avaialble. Part #99-339. Price: $21.95. It fits all pre-1994 Benzes.

Good luck.

that fits a 1990? Or will two wreath symbols look stupid, and just get the chrome plug.

On the trunk, there are three plastic stems on back of the emblem that anchor through the trunk lid. Therefore, you can't just use dental floss to cut through the adhesive (like on a BMW) unless you're willing to fill the remaining holes. IMO a lot my more effort unless you're painting the panel anyway.
good luck!

There are three posts that hold the trunk STAR to the trunk lid but AFAIK the model designation (260E, 300E, etc.) does not use the pins. You can remove the emblem without exposing holes but you WILL expose unfaded paint that may make emblem removal obvious.
