haveing a problem for the longest time with my elctronic seat controls? They no longer move up and down at all. This is a pain. I have a 1998 c280 mercedes, 125k on it. This has not worked for the longest time. any ideas on how to fix this?
Start with the basics. Take the door apart and get into the switch to clean the contacts. It may be that simple. Search the forums for posts by people who have already done this and put up pointers on the procedure.
Don't limit your searches to this forum. Search through all the forums for late 90's MB models. They often have the same problems and solutions. Many parts/designs are similar.
I have changed, coils around, still #2. Changed wires, plugs, octane booster, injector cleaner numerous times, always 92 octane gas. Reverse, neutral... Seems fine No shake. On acceleration seems fine. Sometimes at idle a miss bow and again. Runs great for a few days, then blam, starts...
I don't know if there's any real interest in my old 230K, it's been well used and has several previous owners. I've owned it for the last six years and covered only 5k miles a year (just use it three months a year). I don't look after it cosmetically but I reckoned I'd throw a thread up here...

I needed to replace a couple of bulbs in the cluster recently, no problem. All working fine.
This afternoon, I was running an errand and noticed the gauges were zero (but fuel quantity was vibrating), although the idiot lights were fine...
While working on my engine i accidentaly broke this part. I'm not sure sure about it's purpose. I also broke it on a previous car with the same engine. It doesnt move while pushing on the gas pedal, not affecting anything so far but i'm curious and i want to know if i should change it anyway.
