1996 C220

I have a 1996 C220 that has some electrical issues. First, the heater isn't working, the blower doesn't go on, and there is no heat what so ever coming from the dash defroster or anywhere else. That's my main question, what is the most probable cause of lack of heat/defrost capability if not fuse issue? I checked the fuses and they appear to be intact. Probably no connection but I've noticed when I close the trunk all the doors now lock, never had these issues before, any help appreciated.

You are in the wrong forum.. This is W220, not C220.. I am sure the C220 forum isn't very far away..

It sounds like it could be isolated to the blower, because if it isn't working then you wouldn't feel heat coming out at all. To be sure, the blower doesn't work at all correct, even when set for cool temperatures? If this is the case, the blower isn't too difficult to remove and bench test, just below the passenger footwell (on US cars, no idea where you are located). Before I would do that I would actually go ahead and replace all possible associated fuses because a fuse can sometimes look fine but not function.

Also, how do your under hood wires look? Any cracks or splits to the insulation, or evidence of bare wires especially at the connectors? Check the insulation, you're right at the cusp of biodegradeable wiring harnesses that can cause all sorts of gremlins to start showing up as the coating cracks and allows shorting between wires. This may explain why your trunk and locks are going batty too. You will need to replace the wiring harness for the entire car if this is the case. Someone here makes them way cheaper than the dealer, but that's your choice.
