I can't seem to clear my check engine light, and the fault lights appear to point to EGR faulty (5) and/or Purge switch-over valve open or shorted (21). I've replaced the vacuum lines. I think the next thing to do is test the EGR, but the one in my 1995 e320 cabriolet looks different than replacements online. Mine is in-line with an inlet and outlet that are nipples. The replacement parts are body mounted (see attachments). The unit in my car is on the passenger side of the engine about three-quarters of the way back. Am I looking at the right part?

Same item.

In the picture you posted, it is oriented as it is in the car. In the picture for the part it is essentially upside down.

Unless I'm missing something, there doesn't appear to be a second nipple, and you have to purchase a gasket with the one on the bottom, which indicates to me that one of the ports is the one you see as part of the EGR body facing us. Mine attaches to a bracket and it has two nipples in line.
