I pulled the EGR Tube to clean it today...unfortunately soaking it for a few days in PB Blaster did shit for loosening the nut. I finally got the nut off after 2 hours of working at it to find the threads (not in the nut!!) on the bung of the EGR are shot. Not sure how the nut looks like new but that bung is jacked.

I need a part number for that threaded bung and also for one of the two torx head bolts that hold the unit in place.

Bolts are N91014306001.

Not sure what you mean by bung. Please see attached and tell me what number you mean by bung. You may want to consider replacing #53 also.
If you have EPC it is all there under Engine>Intake and Exhaust Manifolds>Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

The part under 41 and to the right of 29 is the threaded bung I am referring to.

53 is the gasket? Yeah, I'll need to replace that. I also want to replace 47 and 41.

Thanks btw.

Yikes, that part you mention under #41 is #5 and is the EGR valve assembly.
It is about $145 list price.
The rest is less than $20 combined.

Please PM your VIN so I can list exact part #s

Yeah, I know :( I was hoping I could buy just that part. Oh well...I found it online for around $80 shipped. $60 shipped for a used one. I just need that threaded portion but I think for $20 difference I should replace it.

To get it done quickly I would run to the nearest dealer to grab the bolts, gasket, junction nut, and the cone seal.
Should not be more than $25 total.
If you get them parts.com you might wait several days and a dealer can probably pull
them from the local warehouse.

The biggest thing I need is the threaded portion from the EGR - which I wanted to buy alone but looks as though I can't. I will look around for the other parts. I put the truck back together yesterday so I have a little time to get the right stuff to do the job. Plus it gives me a reason to drive the car instead:thumbsup:

Thanks for the help Noodles!

The threaded portion is part of the EGR valve. If you damaged it, you will have to buy a new one.

I'm guessing Apple OSX is not supported. Oh well. I will try from another computer.

Thanks 43sqd. I already setup the account and will use it from now on.

Is there really a benefit to changing my EGR Valve when I buy the new one? I was only going to use the threaded bung from it...but is there a reason I should swap it?

Use Virtual Box form Oracle or VM Ware Fusion and you can run Windows XP to use EPC.
It works well I do it all the time.
I just hopped on another computer lol. I have over 15 machines in my house haha.

Thanks though.

Ordered a used EGR Valve with tube connected from EBay for $60 shipped. I really only need that nut...but figured I could replace the entire tube, nut, bung from this unit. I'm soaking it in PB Blaster (literally soaking in a tub) until I can get it off with my fingers lol. I will get it installed this week when it comes in. Can't complain, haven't spent much on the ML thus far.

Got the used part in (ordered Friday and delivered Monday, USPS) and removed the nut from the bung without much effort. Screwed the EGR to a pillar in the basement and got the bung off quickly as well. No PB Blaster needed. The bung and nut look MUCH different than mine...no corrosion or rust (light rust, but not like mine).

Going to get the bung, tube (after cleaning), and nut installed in my ML within the next few hours. If it works...guess I will need to resell the EGR.

Got the parts installed...lost one of the nuts that hold the tube in, FML. Ordered from dealer today...will be in tomorrow. Hopefully the ML will be back on the trail by this weekend.
