here is a vid showing a person dynoing their car (not my car). doing an ECU flash AND pulley make a difference to HP. and yes it was done on the same day

this is for the 4cyl M111 motor (slk 230)

run 1 with ASP pulley ONLY

run 2 with ASP pulley + ECU flash

and its a reasonable gain at that... 20hp at the wheels

160 Hp on the wheels with ASP pulley only? it is low
on the other hand +20hp for M111 on the wheels from software seems high
software supplier?

It's a dyno dynamics dyno they read low. 160hp at the wheels is about 220hp at the engine.. And 180hp is about 240hp at the motor.

Was there a run before any mods??

Presuming pulley change could be done after a base line run and pulley change and ECU flash then done withing the day - doesn't sound unreasonable to me

can email the guy and ask... dyno dynamics dynos usually have big losses and read low. dynojet dyno would read 180hp at around 202hp at the wheels which is still about 240hp at the crank (16% loss).

point is cant compare dynos to dynos, they are only a tool to see if what you have done has increased power or decreased etc... in this instance there was a gain by doing an ECU flash.

according to his description OE tuning did the work

subby is 100% right on this... if you guys remember when I did my dyno, I only got in the 180s for wheel horsepower but everyone there that day knew the dyno was reading extremely low, even though I have quite a lot of mods done

160hp with ASP pulley seems low to me-my W202 C230 Kompressor M111 did that much yesterday on a dyno without ASP pulley and the dyno was reading really low because new Audi S5’s were in mid 200’s and V8 S4’s manual tranny were low 200’s.
