I have a 1998 SL500, and that darn EC switch is stuck in the "on" mode and cannot switch it off. So my Aircon will not switch on. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do to fix it? Thanks!

Most likely low gas, but could also be another malfunction. Usually EC mode can be disabled by pressing the button. If not, then there is a problem with the system preventing you to turn on the compressor (A/C). Often this is caused by a low system pressure/lack of freon.
