Can anyone elaborate on this? I'm looking to make sure I have good connections as my opener is not opening like it should and I do think it is because of the connections. I've searched and am wondering what the best connections are to use for this? As there seems to be controvery on what is best. Looking for opinions from those that have done it already with good results over time.

Thanks

I've found the 3M connectors to be reliable if they are sized correctly for the wires being spliced and if they are installed properly. Others have had issues. It's hard to argue against soldering for a secure connection.

Ive had mixed results with insulation displacement connectors.
Ive had to open a few to check they have cut insulation thru to wire.
Some wires look the right size but ins is thicker than expected.
Remove carefully one by one , carefully slide ins back from the mark and wrap the other wire there to be 100%. Even unsoldered that can be a better join.
