Hello Everyone, its that time once again. This is the OFFICIAL RELEASE of the Itinerary for the 2006 AMGfest Weekend. I wanted to get a website up to answer anyquestions but I just have not gotten around to it. And prolly will not have time(read this as I am looking for a volunteer to get a not so fancy website put together for me, if interested please contact me). This years event will be similar to last year's but 2 things will be different... We will have events BOTH days, and second, there will be no monolithic rain.

Day one will take place August 26th. It will take place at the Montvale, New Jersey US Headquarters. We will have time to show off our rides and what not like last time. Below are some pictures of last year's event.

Day 2(August 27th) involves some friendly competition amongst AMG owners and Porsche owners and a few other manufacturers in an auto cross environment. Our track event will take place in the parking lot of the Meadowlands(Giants stadium). This event is being run by the NJ chapter of the Porsche owners of America. PRE registration of 20 cars is open now, however let it be known some of the pre registration spots ARE filled already so please get back to me ASAP. Event starts at 8am on sunday and will be $40 for those who participate. We will be in our own AMG class and may have trophies for the event. For those not interested in competing we do encourage you to come and spectate and enjoy the atmosphere of friendly competition. There is no entrance fee for those who wish to watch. This event is not sponsored by mercedes but will be attended by staff and possibly some AMG factory vehicles.

This year's event looks to be bigger and better then last years. I encourage you to register for the weekend as soon as you can as it will allow us to gain a much clearer idea of how many people will be coming. There is no official hotel but I will do my best to get something set up for us that weekend. There is a Marriot across the street from MBUSA headquarters, make reservations there for now if you want to get it out of the way.

In order to Register for the event please send an email to NortheastAMG at yahoo.com

Thanks again, and lets make 2006 an event to remember... Pass this along to any forum I may have missed, and any questions feel free to EMAIL me at northeastAMG address. I got too many PMs last year and missed some. Also this event is open to ALL Mercedes if you have questions regarding this, please contact me.

Looks like a fun event!

I am new to the Mercedes shows....have previously owned a BMW and attended a couple of their events and had a fun time. The atmosphere was usually more of a vacation feel with people partying and having fun. Looking to try a Mercedes show and saw this one coming up in late August. What all happens at these events. Thanks for your reply.

How large of an event.....

Hi,
Interested to know what kind of turnout is expected at the August 26th and 27th
show. Are car owners invited to this event or is it open to anyone?
Thanks for any info you can provide.
:)

Hi CrazyGrl! Pete's a been a little busy, so I'll send him an email or PM him so he can answer your question.

You might be interested to check out amgpower.com where he normally posts and is a lot more active (also under the name 55fanatic), and you can find out more information about these events that he sets up.

thanks AML...

CrazyGrl... where are you located? what do you drive? as far as atmosphere for this event? It prolly is a little more "proffessional" then your average BMW meet. While there is a significant amount of celebration of what we drive, the first day of this event is to be held at Mercedes Benz US headquarters, After the mercedes HQ event you can unbutton your collar because the rest of the weekend will be balls to the wall, Sunday we will be having an autoX, and Saturday evening we are going to drive around doing photoshoots with some very good proffesional photographers.

All in all its a great time... Also it would be great to have owners of the opposite sex joining us too... you would be one of two female owners who would attend. It lets women know they can play too

Also the event is open, the only event that costs money is the autoX which is $40 the rest of the weekend is no charge... Open to all Mercedes Owners...

Also Ohio... this year it became dubbed the EAST COAST AMG fest... Hoping to grow this event to be the size of bimmerfest, in which case Mercedes owners far and wide come to the event
