hi,

about to go and get some maintenance parts. aside from the fuel filter does the e55 have a fuel accumulator as well like other benz models to hold the fuel pressure when the car is off? when i changed the fuel pump i didn't notice an accumulator but then i could have missed it or it might be at another location..

thank you.

regards,

Part of the function of the fuel filter actually - one of the key reasons ONLY buy Bosch or Mann fuel filter from aftermarket. China/India knockoff's don't perform that internal function well, and fail rapidly..

thank you Fabbrisd1!

when i replaced the fuel pump i looked everywhere but couldn't find it, and i couldn't see any FPR either on or near the fuel rail. as far as i can tell the rail has only 1 feed line and no return line so it made me wonder how the pressure was maintained when the pump was off.

thank you for sharing this information. i'm slowly getting to know my car

regards,
ray

well the parts dealer didn't have bosch or mann. all they had was Knecht which is made by Mahle so that's what i went with. i hope its a good brand and will last.
