Hi all,
Well, got to finally spend some good quality time with my AMG this past weekend. Man is this car
addicting!! My question to the other E55 owners on this board is this: How do you guys like the sound
of your stock exhaust? My cousin has a '00 M5 and just changed his stock exhaust to a B&B Tri-Flo. The
sound is UNBELIEVABLE. At low RPM's as well as when the car is started, the exhaust emits a fantastic
rumble. Very deep and rich. At cruising speeds, it is actually quite quiet. I would love to have that kind of
sound on my car. Anyone here changed their AMG exhausts or have the same feeling that I do? I know
someone who has an ML55 and took off the resonators on his exhausts and as a result, had quite a
nice sound. But I would like to stay away from that option.
Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!
Ryan

I personally would stay away from this (or any other aftermarket) exhaust. Hopefully B&B has their quality problems behind them but I'm sure AMG did a good job of engineering their exhaust to maximize torque and hp. You may lose a bit going to B&B as proven by testing on an independent dyno (not B&B's claims). You may like the sound at first after converting but grow tired of it on long trips. SD
