Hi guys,

Is the 722.6 trani on an e500 w211 the same as on the e55 w211?

For some reason i need to replace my e55 trani and found an e500 which is a 722.6. Are both have the same mechanics? Is the e55 more heavy duty?

What is the real difference between both.

As it concerns part #s transmission is different, 04-06 torque converter may be compatible 04-06. Need VIN to confirm compatible part # for your vehicle.

03 e55 transmission 2302700700 / torque converter 1402500802, 2402500202
e500 2202701100, 2112703100 / 1402550602
04 same as 03
2112706402; 2112500802
05 same as 04
06 same as 04

E500 722.6 was 4matic only so you'll have to swap out the transfer case. E55 got larger clutch packs and different shift solenoids.

Hello,

Vin: WDBUF76J94A584096

Ok so the transmission I found was actually for a cls500 as i checked the part number online.
Many mechanics i asked told me that fitting this to the e55 engine can be done with no issues.

So the difference between a 55 and a 500 trani could only be the torque converter? Or is there some better mechanics in an amg trani.

P.s: ill check the 500 part number and let you know.
